On your marks, get set….GO.

so I am super excited to start the season in a few days time at Miami Triathlon. If you are down in Miami, make sure to stop by the Profile Design Booth 2-4 on Saturday and say hi. I am feeling satisfied with my training and the first race is always a fun time as racing is about getting a rhythm. It’s been a few months since the last race so will be good to hear the gun go off and push myself to see where I am at. I also am debuting my Matty Reed Signature D-6 by Fuji! yes the bike will be in the booth with me Saturday…. so glued the Vittoria tyres last night. New Kiwami uniform arrived today. Things are coming together nicely. Having a good solid week of training as my coach and I learned a lot last year about my taper. I don’t like a big taper…Big Matty Reed likes a small taper. :-) off to eat some yummy dinner. train hard. mentally practice the small race things this week guys if you are racing Miami on the weekend. And train hard. Race harder. Be safe out there. BIG MATTY REED- OUT.

2009 is off and running….

Checking in after well, too long. Life has been good. Holidays were great and things have been rolling along here in boulder. Training is coming along well and after a bit of a cold, I am on track for the opening race in Miami next month. I have really enjoying being at home in my routine, though we have had some cold and snowy and windy days here, we have also had some amazing days. I got to ride Peak to Peak Highway with TO in January! That makes this biker very very happy. I am thrilled that TO has made the move to Boulder and fun times will be had. JT is back running fast… so that is giving me someone to push me along. I have been consistent with my plan for the year and feel confident in where I am at. Peyton my girl turns 1 on sunday… where does the time go??? oh wait, 2008 was a big year and I am really looking forward to backing it up in 2009. I am thrilled to welcome some new sponsors to the “team” and let me just say, these feet will be going FAST in my new racing flat from K-Swiss. Oh and I am loving the longer style running shorts they make! I will be sporting my classic fast Kiwami Suits for the 2009 season. DEBUT: Miami Triathlon- the Matty Reed signature D-6 ….. make sure to come check it out!

well off to a nice massage now …. train hard, train honest, and most of all have fun doing it! Big Matty Reed- OUT!!!

2008 NATIONAL CHAMPION

Wahoo. Got some of the bad monkey who jumped on my back at the olympics, well got him off my back, if you know what I mean. I had a great weekend. I got the job done in the race early on with a solid swim and bike and could enjoy the run. National Champ… I like the sound of it. I felt great the next day and was able to get back to training right away as I have 4 races left- Dallas, World Cup Mexico, Escape to Bermuda, and Treasure Island.

This weekend, I got to hang with some of the coolest and nicest CEO’s ever with the CEO CHALLENGE GROUP. Meeting you guys was great and I hope to see you boys around the circuit heaps. Thanks for inviting me along Ted!!!

I was able to see Heather, Kelly’s roommate from college, who we havent seen since last year and my friend Ryan Carter, who sadly I had not seen in 5 years. That is not going to happen again…. I promise Ryan!

More race report later, as I am attending the Art & Science of Triathlon event held by USAT in Portland. Also doing some training here in Portland and loving it.

A shout out to my swimming buddy Brooke who won the National Amateur Title on the weekend. Brooke is a mother of 3, the wife of a cool guy named Andrew and a down to earth fun chick. Way to get it done Brooke. And a shout out to Don Orr, who also swims with us, as he qualified for the Worlds Team!!! Way to go Donny!

Boulder Rocked Nationals!!!!

Be safe out there and see you at Dallas if you are racing! Out- Big Matty Reed
